Dorothea Lange (Photographer)
Teacher: Katrine Wettstein Lessons: 4 /week
The saying “a picture says more than a thousand words” has been heard and experienced by most of us. We live in a world full of printed and digital images, but what is so fascinating about this is that despite that fact an endless amount of images are out there, waiting to be captured. Photography and audio-visual making are thus two powerful and limitless tools to convey ideas, meanings, feelings and worldviews.
You will learn how to develop your photographic “eye” in day-to-day situations, while training your technical and aesthetic skills needed for visual communication and then consequently how to use photography and audio-visual making as a medium of self-expression.
We will start off with an introduction to photography and audio-visual making – basic technical and subjective elements.
Special focus will be given to how to capture portraits, creation of black and white exhibitions and of both individual as well as collective audio-visuals.
The class will offer a mixture of theory given along with experiential methods then practice, practice and more practice.
