Outdoor and Teambuilding

Screen Shot 2014-12-17 at 13.58.01Teacher: Mette Skamris    Lessons: 4/week

Aims:
1) To explore the opportunities Nature offers for experiences, challenges and movement.
2) To get teambuilding experience and increase your self-awareness and self-esteem.

Content and methods:
The class is based on the ‘learning by doing’ approach – we will engage with nature in many different ways – hiking, swimming, treasure hunting, bicycling, cooking on bonfires, and night activities such as hiking in the dark and watching stars.
Through these experiences we will build team spirit, understanding and confidence in our own and the team’s abilities. We will work actively with practical skills, such as how to cook on open fire and how to navigate by a map. We will work in teams and learn about what makes teamwork work – what roles we think we have in a group vs. how others see us.

You should be willing to challenge yourself and have fun doing so. Some activities will take place at IPC and other activities will take place in different parts of North Zealand’s nature. Therefore, you need to be able to ride a bicycle or to learn it really fast! Rain gear is most likely an advantage as you should prepare yourself to be outdoor most of the time in all kinds of lovely Danish Summer/Autumn weather.
