As a “Nature Explorer” you will get knowledge about the different types of nature around us (eg. what is characteristic for these kind of nature and which organisms are able to live there), knowledge about different organisms and you will learn methods to tell the difference between species of trees, flowers, insects etc.

We will have the Danish nature as a starting point since the course also includes a lot of outdoor nature experience, but the methods can be used everywhere and there will to some degree be common characteristics with types of nature in other parts of the world. With the knowledge gained in this course you will get a more enriched experience when you are out in the nature, and the knowledge is very useful in the work with nature conservation and questions about biodiversity and sustainability.
We will explore the following:

- Life in the ocean, streams and lakes
- The special environment in the bog
- Different trees and other organisms connected to these trees
- Flowers and open habitats (fx grasslands)
- The world of insects
- The nature during nightfall

The teaching will be a mixture of some theoretical introductions to the topics (taking place indoor) and outdoor nature experience with practical exercises – with a predominance of outdoor experiences/excursions!
