Aim:
The aim of the course is for you to strengthen your understanding of environmental problems and to motivate you and prepare you to take action.

Content and Methods:
In this class we will explore some of the major environmental challenges that the worlds is facing today. In the first 12 weeks we will focus on global climate change, fossil fuel and renewable energy, water scarcity and pollution, and on understanding some of the complex issues in relation to environmental protection and policy. In the last 12 weeks the focus will be on waste, biodiversity, forest and farming systems.

Throughout the course we will go on excursions, for example to visit the local Water Treatment Plant, Recycling Station and forest. The class also includes guest lectures by experts within Wind Power Energy in Denmark and Climate Change Adaptation in Elsinore. Moreover, we will engage in student research and presentations, small practical experiments, and sometimes we will be outdoor in order to learn from field trips and observations.
