Aim:

  • Describe the emerging role of civil society organisations
  • Create your own civil society organization
  • Plan, design and evaluate action programmes and projects for organisations, particularly NGOs
  • Know the basic parts of a project proposal, and understand the use of language in grant writing.

Content:

We will study the nature, actual role and future potentials of NGOs in society, institutional capacity building in NGOs. We design model NGOs and become familiar with participatory methods (PRA-methods) that are currently being used all over the world. We continue with one specific tool called Logical Framework Approach (LFA). Many donor organisations require that applications for funds are presented in LFA format. After a general introduction to the tool, the students choose and develop their own projects.
